Welcome to Breakfast at Julie Therese! A blog about fashion, fashion trends, fashion shows, and basically whatever I want to write about. You'll explore with me my last year as an Apparel and Textile Major at Michigan State University as well as my life living in my sorority on campus. Lastly, come with me as I venture back home to the city of Chicago, as well as some trips to New York, Baltimore (my cousin's wedding is October 2!) and New York City for interviews and my trips to Mood to get fabric for the SADA show!
So what is SADA? It's MSU's Student Apparel Designers Association, which I have been a part of for 4 years now at State. Its a student group for designers, fashion enthusiasts, and anyone who just loves fashion! But the biggest event for SADA is the annual fashion show. Last year's theme was "Lights! Cameras! Fashion!", a movie themed show. Each designer was assigned a movie (NO exceptions! NO redos!) and so mine was... "An Affair to Remember!" Such a lovely movie staring Debbra Kerr and Cary Grant made in 1957. If you haven't seen it, I strongly reccommend that you do! Old time romance movies are always fun.
Here are some pics from the show of my (yes MY designs! Drawn, cut, and sewn by yours truely) designs. Enjoy and look for more posts soon!
xoxo,
JT.
